Prof Ashley Ross

Prof. Ross is a former head of the Department of Homeopathy at Durban University of Technology (DUT), South Africa who has practiced and taught homeopathy for over 25 years. In addition to private practice and the teaching of homeopathic philosophy and materia medica, he has been actively engaged in research supervision across a range of health disciplines as well as pursuing his own research interests. 

He has delivered lectures and seminars in South Africa, India, Latvia and the UK, published and presented research papers at congresses in 13 countries, and currently reviews for five medical journals. He is an internationally-regarded expert in the field of homeopathic provings, and has been the Principal Investigator in an ongoing collaborative proving research project between DUT and Biologische Heilmittel Heel (Germany) since 2012. 

He has served as the representative for Homeopathy on the Allied Health Professions Council of South Africa (AHPCSA) for 10 years and is currently a representative for Homeopathy on the Professional Board for Homeopathy, Naturopathy and Phytotherapy (under the AHPCSA). He is also a member of the Executive Committee of the Liga Medicorum Homoeopathica Internationalis, as Secretary for Research. In addition to Masters and doctoral studies in homeopathy (completed at DUT), he has a Bachelor’s degree in Music (University of Cape Town), and a Postgraduate Diploma in Health Research Ethics (Stellenbosch University).
